The fellowship is conducted by World Laparoscopy Hospital and provides participants with hands-on experience using the da Vinci surgical robot. Here are some key details about the fellowship:

Start Date and Duration:

The fellowship program starts every month from the 17th to the 20th.

The duration of the fellowship is 4 days.

Course Director and Chief Trainer: Dr. R.K. Mishra, a Master of Minimal Access Surgery, serves as the course director and chief trainer for the program.

Course Fee:

  • For Indian Doctors: Rs 1,75,000
  • For Overseas Doctors: 3,500 USD
  • The fee includes study material, working lunch, lab expenses, OT dress, and local transport.
  • Candidates need to pay a registration fee of 5000 rupees at the time of application and the remaining fee on the first day of joining the course.
  • Location: The fellowship takes place at the World Laparoscopy Hospital, located in DLF Phase II, Cyber City, Gurgaon, NCR Delhi, India.

Course Fee and Accommodation

Course Fee:

For F.MAS (Fellowship in Minimal Access Surgery):

Indian Surgeons: 1,75,000 Rupees

Overseas Surgeons and NRIs: 3,500 USD

The course fee includes the use of hospital resources like internet, laparoscopic instruments, O.T. Dress, library, videos, CDs.

Working lunch, snacks, tea, and coffee will be provided throughout the day during the course.

Accommodation:

Dedicated accommodation is available for doctors at subsidized rates.

Pacific Hotel, which is owned and managed by World Laparoscopy Hospital, provides accommodation options.

Indian doctors can find accommodation within the hospital campus.

The hospital also has its own deluxe bus to transport surgeons to the hospital.

Eligibility for Admission

 The eligibility criteria for admission to the Fellowship of International College of Robotic Surgeons (FICRS) Training course are as follows:

Educational Qualifications:

Candidates must hold an M.B.B.S or equivalent degree.

They should have at least 3 years of post-registration experience in General Surgery or Gynecology.

Alternatively, candidates with a degree of M.S or M.D are also eligible for admission.

Medical Registration:

Candidates must have a valid medical registration.

Overseas Doctors:

Overseas doctors should have equivalent qualifications to be eligible for admission.

Application Process:

Admission to the FICRS Training course is based on an online application.

Only an online application is required for admission.

Certificate Award:

Successful candidates who complete the training will be awarded a Certificate of Fellowship of International College of Robotic Surgeons (FICRS).

This certificate will be awarded by both the International College of Robotic Surgeons and the World Association of Laparoscopic Surgeons.

Overview of Robotic Surgery Training

All participants of da Vinci robotic surgery training will be trained in the following:

  • How to do proper operative room setup of da Vinci robot
  • How to do patient preparation and positioning in robotic surgery
  • Fundamentals of da Vinci® Surgical System components and instrumentation
  • Training of intra-corporeal suturing and knot tying by da Vinci robot

  • Learn "tricks of the trade" tips for efficient robotic surgery

Certification of Fellowship in Robotic Surgery (FICRS)


Certificate of Fellowship of International College of Robotic Surgeons (FICRS) will be awarded by International College of Robotic Surgeons and World Association of Laparoscopic Surgeon.

·       Ergonomics, optical 3 D HD designing and Working Principles of Robotic Remote Sensor Technology,and Docking of the Canula with the Robotic Arm of da Vinci® Surgical System.Insertion and change of the instruments.

DAY 2 (18th) OF EVERY MONTH

·       Baseball Diamond Concept of Port Position used in Robotic Surgery and Docking Principle of da Vinci Robot for various surgery

·       Hands On practice of Intracorporeal Robotic Surgeons Knot on da Vinci Robot

·       Hands On practice of Iintracorporeal Robotic Tumble Square Knot, Robotic Dundee Jamming Knot, Robotic Continuous Suturing and Robotic Aberdeen Termination Suturing Practice.

DAY 3 (19th) OF EVERY MONTH

·       Hands on Live Surgery Practice for Surgeons and Gynecologists according to specialty of Surgeon, Gynecologist, Urologist and Cardiothoracic Surgeon
